Some municipalities in Southern California had their own bike share systems outside of the territory of Metro Bike Share, but many of them worked with the TAP system. They (at one time?) were grouped together under the name Bike Share Connect.
West Hollywood: WeHo Pedals (seems defunct)
Santa Monica: Breeze Bike Share, folded and partially shifted to Beverly Hills system
(Lyft was supposed to have bike rentals in Santa Monica in late 2020.)
Beverly Hills: also defunct
Bruin Bike Share: defunct, seems to have been folded into Metro Bike
Everything you need to know about riding scooters and bikes in LA, from costs to hours to locations.
NOTE: this is mostly outdated, written in 2019
You can use the BCycle app if you have a TAP account but "don't already have a TAP card", but you can use Metro Bike and Bike Share Connect [defunct] with a TAP card by setting up separate accounts then linking them to " be interoperable".

Super73 unveiled a host of new products, including an electric motorcycle with a top speed of 75mph and a lineup of e-bikes for kids.
Moped-style electric bikes are everywhere this year as companies rush to launch fun-sized e-bikes reminiscent of the 1980s minibike craze. Most offer motorbike-sized wheels, a sporty ride stance, and even seating for two riders. Major e-bike manufacturers have hopped on board to offer up new and interesting models for 2020.
This is the design that makes sense. Why bother with a bike with tiny wheels?

A versatile bike rack option, but maybe we'd just want the tray on the teardrop tongue instead.
This looks narrow enough for the second cog on my retro-direct, if I can't find one locally.
