This might work without a Tradfri gateway, and is claimed to work with Vera using althue connector. Not sure if OpenHAB can talk to it, but it should.

A killer platform for an AndroidTV box! Even the camera is tempting, if I can make something like Zoneminder use it.
A clever design, which might not be hard to mimic! Basically, the frame becomes the heatsink as well as supporting everything. Using the hollow space in the posts might even be good for cable management.
