Sadly, the ZigBee protocols are incompatible. That leaves trying to do OpenHAB or similar with Raspberry Pi if I want to integrate Ikea cheap gear, but it might mean a cheaper Z-Wave Vera hub.

It might be possible to replace the power adapter with direct DC, but would that be too current-unlimited?
